1. Begin everyday with a touch of luxury, shampoo your hair with the appropriate shampoo, I will talk more about that later.
The art of shampooing is to gently, yet thoroughly, massage a small amount shampoo through the precious locks you have been nurturing for up to seven years. Your hair has had to cope with all the environmental factors which you make it endure on a daily basis, yet you just wash it and go? big mistake!
The massage techniques you could employ to stimulate the hair follicle and clean the scalp leaving it in the perfect state to encourage hair growth.
Why wash your hair everyday? I know that it may take you more time than you can spare, but would you let your face go two to three days without a wash?
2. Apply a conditioner to the mid lengths and ends avoiding the root area and leave for 3 minutes to allow the conditioner an opportunity to work. Then rinse away the excess conditioner.
3. Towel dry your hair by dabbing and blotting, do not rub causing friction as this will cause knotting and potential fracturing of the hair shaft which can be irreversible. Now this is the key point and one which hairdressers may disagree with but let your hair dry naturally if possible or if a hot styling tool or hair dryer is to be used turn the heat down and style using a thermal defense spay to aid in dissipating the heat of the styling tool.
Finally a note on shampoo selection, hair is your crowning glory so invest in a quality shampoo that suits the texture and processing level of your hair type such as for a flaky scalp with dry medium texture hair, use a shampoo which specializes in itchiness and flakiness followed by moisture balancing conditioner and then apply scalp toner. If the scalp has scaling or redness then use a scalp mask and apply elasticizer to the mid lengths and ends, or for a bespoke plan and wiser investment get in touch with me.
